The traditional coated sheet metal locker
for changing rooms has had its time.
Buckling, scratches, rust, a debatable
design, sharp flaps of sheet metal and
receptacles for dust and dirt; these are
the characteristics of this out-of-date
type product that is now only used in
places where costs have to be kept to
a minimum.
Patentverwag was the first company in
Italy at the end of the 1970's to start
the production of lockers for changing
rooms made of solid grade laminate that
have met with growing success.
At the beginning, the solid grade laminate
sections were "held together"
using nylon couplings; the hinges too
were made with this noble material, but
within a few years it was replaced entirely
by strips of anodised aluminium.
This improved the product from the point
of view of sturdiness, appearance, practicality,
durability and above all, price. In fact
the load-bearing sections made of anodised
steel enable the thickness of the laminate
to be reduced (especially for the sides
and the bottom) and moreover, allow a
special hinge with exceptional characteristics
to be used along the whole length of the
locker, inserted in the front load-bearing
sections.
Vandal-resistant strength, 90° door
opening, top level design and a practically
unlimited lifetime.
The use of solid grade laminate, anodised
aluminium and stainless steel for the
accessories (adjustable feet, screws)
and nylon for the locks ensure the product
is completely corrosion resistant with
a class 1 fire resistance that is guaranteed
by certifications.
Moreover, the construction system described
above leads to a wide range of models
that can even be made with the features
requested by the customer (colour, shape,
size, accessories).
In short, this extremely high quality
product has been awarded by an unprecedented
success. This range of products is used
for changing rooms and adjacent WC areas
by large pharmaceutical, cosmetic and
food companies, hospitals, sports centres,
spas, gyms, fitness centres and swimming
pools.
Based on the experience acquired in the
use of the four materials mentioned above,
Patentverwag Italia has also been able
to start the production of items for WC
and shower areas in changing rooms such
as dividing walls that are used to build
WC and shower cubicles, outdoor and indoor
changing cubicles and doors. This is a
range of innovative products which in
the cubicle market has completely replaced
the old-fashioned brick-built tiled cubicle
fitted with traditional doors. The new
Patentverwag Italia models are raised
10-15 cm. from the ground, making it easier
to clean the floor and to allow sufficient
air to circulate.
Finally, the number of items that can
be made using the technology described
above is practically infinite: lockers
for helmets and bags, shelving, shoe cabinets,
deposit safes, cupboards for clothing
distribution, tables, shelves and last
but not least tops for fitted sinks offering
exceptional characteristics of design
and practicality.
A system that enables the look, colour
and practicality of the components to
blend perfectly with the design of the
changing room and the adjacent WC area.
The success has been confirmed by the
thousands of changing rooms set up including
those in Airports, Exhibition Centres,
Railway Stations, Departmental Stores,
Bars, Restaurants and more recently even
in shipyards where pleasure craft and
cruise ships are built.
