Contrary to popular
belief, the accessories for lane lines that
divide swimming pools are numerous and complex.
From simple zinc-coated steel tensioners
of the past, more sophisticated devices
have been developed to optimise the lane
line coupling and release operations and
to make it easier to regulate the tightness
of the lines.
The first group of accessories concerns
the tensioners.
Both the traditional stainless steel tensioners
are used as well as more complex models:
the lever tensioner and the reel tensioner.
The first type enables the tension of the
cable to be regulated and increased still
further by using a spring lever.
On the other hand, the second type includes
a reel, operated by a special key, that
enables the excess cable to be wound up
while adjusting the tension to be given
to the lane line with absolute precision.
As the latter model consists of various
parts with gears and springs, it is protected
by a soft plastic cover to prevent accidents,
a typical accident prevention solution adopted
exclusively by Patentverwag Italia. Normally,
a stainless steel spring of a suitable size
is fitted on the opposite side of the lane
to dampen the tension placed on the cable
by the stress from pool users. Lane line
anchorages are a matter apart and deserve
to be considered separately. They are divided
into two different types: those for traditional
swimming pool edges and those for pool edges
with overflow channel.
The first type is made with a stainless
steel element, provided with a fitting for
the hook of the tensioner or for the spring
that is connected to a horizontal grip bar.
The second type consists of two elements
: a stainless steel "securing base"
that is embedded into the floor and a post
to be fitted into the base provided with
a special housing for the hook of the tensioner.
The basic principles adopted by Patentverwag
Italia in designing these lane accessories
are safety of use and stress resistance.
The first principle is achieved by making
the lane accessories with very resistant
materials: stainless steel, nylon or PVC.
The second principle is the result of careful
design work: in particular, care is taken
to protect the swimmers and the pool users
in general from protruding parts, especially
from tensioner hooks and springs, that are
always fitted into the anchorages whether
they are of the "post" type or
embedded.
Patentverwag, the leader in the market,
has acquired thirty years' experience in
this sector and, as a result, the company
produces lane accessories that not only
comply with standards but satisfy even higher
safety standards, as shown by the latest
generation of post anchorages that have
recently come into production.
